Ocean Adventurer - East Coast Skills - Nova Scotia - 5 Days
5 Days
East Coast Skills Week
July 15-19, 2026
Are you ready for a next‑level paddling adventure? Join us for East Coast Skills Week, a dynamic five‑day program designed for paddlers who want to sharpen their skills in exposed coastal environments and build confidence for advanced programs.
Based in two locations in Nova Scotia, including the spectacular remote Tusket Islands and the coastal waters of Southwestern Nova Scotia as well as the iconic tidal playgrounds of Brier Island, you’ll paddle in tides, swell, wind‑driven seas, and surf‑rich channels. This is the perfect setting to challenge yourself, refine your boat control and rescue techniques, and elevate your decision‑making in real ocean conditions.
Throughout the week we will explore multiple locations offering diverse conditions—rock gardens, tidal currents, open swell, and surf zones. This intensive week is ideal for paddlers preparing for Level‑3 or Level‑4 Skills programs, or for those who already hold those certifications but want to gain deeper exposure to dynamic coastal waters in a supportive, high‑performance setting.
Participants should hold a Paddle Canada Level‑2 Skills (or equivalent) certification, and have had previous experience in dynamic water environments (surf, current, swell), and be competent with wet‑exits and rescue skills. If you are newer to these environments we recommend our Ocean Discovery or Ocean Explorer programs as these may be a better fit!
