Intermediate - Level-2 The Intermediate level is equivalent to programming for Paddle Canada Level-2 Skills. This program is suitable to paddlers with a Level-1 certificate or equivalent skills. Some paddlers already with a Level-2 skills may take some programming in this level to further solidify and refine those existing skills to help prepare for more challenging waters. Paddlers must have a comfortable wet-exit and familiar with assisted and self rescue techniques. This level is the introduction to paddling in more dynamic ocean environments including introduction to swell, surf and currents

Cloud 9 Adventures is excited to bring the Rough Water Club to one of Nova Scotia’s most famous landmarks: Peggy’s Cove. Known worldwide for its postcard-perfect lighthouse and dramatic granite shoreline, this area offers an incredible opportunity to explore the coast from a completely different perspective — riding ocean swell, navigating rock gardens, and playing in dynamic Atlantic conditions.

This program is designed for paddlers with some experience in rough water who want to refine their technique, build confidence, and challenge themselves in one of Nova Scotia’s most stunning marine environments. With limited group size and focused coaching, you’ll develop stronger boat control, improve your timing and positioning around rocks and features, and learn how to read and work with the energy of the ocean.

From exploring surge channels and wave action along the granite ledges to playing in wind-driven swell and open-water conditions, this session adapts to the day’s environment — blending skill development, safety awareness, and adventurous coastal exploration.
