Ocean Explorer - Level-3 Prep - Halifax Area - 4 Days

Looking to gain more experience before tackling a Level-3 Skills program? Perhaps you want an opportunity to challenge your skills in a safe and supportive environment, or you haven’t yet had the chance to paddle in tidal waters and want to gain exposure to the ocean before exploring other programs. Maybe you simply want focused training without the pressure of assessment. If any of this resonates, this program may be perfect for you!

This ocean-based skills program is designed to introduce paddlers to more dynamic ocean waters while developing key skills and techniques for paddling in challenging conditions. Paddle Canada Level-2 paddlers (or equivalent) are ideal candidates. It is also suitable for Level-3 certified paddlers with limited ocean experience who want to expand their skill set and confidence in exposed waters.

We’re excited to offer this 4-day program with our visiting guest instructor Antoine Forest-Côté. Paddlers will explore coastal environments in and around the Halifax area, including a surf beach, rock gardening, and paddle the Shubie Tidal Bore twice to experience this exhilarating tidal phenomenon. Locations will be selected to maximize exposure to dynamic water and challenging conditions, allowing participants to develop real-world skills.

Participants will also have opportunities to strengthen leadership, safety & rescue, and decision-making on the ocean.
