Intermediate - Level-2 The Intermediate level is equivalent to programming for Paddle Canada Level-2 Skills. This program is suitable to paddlers with a Level-1 certificate or equivalent skills. Some paddlers already with a Level-2 skills may take some programming in this level to further solidify and refine those existing skills to help prepare for more challenging waters. Paddlers must have a comfortable wet-exit and familiar with assisted and self rescue techniques. This level is the introduction to paddling in more dynamic ocean environments including introduction to swell, surf and currents

Rough Water Club – “Maces Bay”

The focus of this session will be rough water play, reading water and playing in tidal currents.

Rough Water Club is a new initiative from Cloud 9 Adventures aimed at strengthening the sea kayaking community across Atlantic Canada. This program provides paddlers with opportunities to connect, learn, and grow together while enjoying the thrill of navigating dynamic coastal waters.

This session will take place at the locally renowned “Maces Bay”, a prime practice environment in Southwestern New Brunswick. This location provides a great opportunity to work on rough water confidence as well as boat control and rescue and safety skills in tidal currents and turbulent waters.

Led by a Paddle Canada instructor, the outing combines guided instruction with playful exploration, offering paddlers a space to refine skills, build confidence, and challenge themselves in rough water conditions. These gatherings go beyond standard paddling sessions—they are community-focused experiences, where we gather to share a common purpose, support one another, and push their abilities in a safe, encouraging, and engaging environment.
