Paddle Canada Level-2 Skills Program
September 17-20, 2026
The Paddle Canada Level-2 Skills Program is designed to help paddlers build confidence and competency in more dynamic coastal environments while preparing for skills and considerations for multi-day trips. This program focuses on refining skills developed in Level-1 and introducing new techniques, including linking strokes into maneuvers, paddling in currents, swell and surf as well as an introduction to rolling. Participants will develop greater comfort and control in a variety of ocean conditions, enhancing both safety and enjoyment on the water.
With a focus on developing self-reliant paddlers, the course covers essential topics such as navigation and decision making, boat handling, rescue techniques in rough conditions, trip planning, risk assessment, and coastal weather. Paddlers will gain practical experience applying these skills in real-world coastal environments, building the foundation for more advanced sea kayaking programs.
This program is ideal for paddlers who have completed Paddle Canada Level-1 Skills (or equivalent) and are ready to take their skills to the next level.
